THE family of a Powys man who was found dead last month have described his loss as “unbearable”, and have appealed to the local community to raise funds to help with funeral costs.

A fundraising page set up by Aaron Davies’ mum Jackie Roper – to help towards the costs of his funeral – was set up over the weekend and has already raised over £1,000.

The gofundme page has currently raised £1,240, with more than 50 people donating and many of Aaron’s friends and family sharing the appeal on social media.

“My name is Jackie and I'm trying to raise funds to help towards my son’s funeral,” says Jackie in an emotional post on the fundraising page – donate at https://www.gofundme.com/f/funeral-for-aaron-davies.

“Aaron was 31 when he was found on January 23 in an isolated field near to Llandrindod Wells, Mid Wales.

“His death is currently being treated as unexplained by the police, so we have no idea yet as to what happened to him.

“Among the devastation, his father and I are having to make funeral arrangements next week and would very much appreciate any donations received to help us give Aaron the send-off he deserves.

“Our loss is unbearable and we are struggling to raise the funds between us, so every penny will help. Thank you so much.”

Aaron’s funeral is to be held on Tuesday, March 7, at Eglwys Oen Duw church, in Beulah, near Llanwrtyd Wells.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Aaron’s death, which is being treated as unexplained.

His body was reported locally to have been found on a hill between Penybont and Cefnllys, near Cwmbrith Farm.
