A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of fraudulent use of a bank card that belonged to a Powys man who was found dead in the county last month.

Aaron Luke Davies’ body was found on farmland near Penybont on Monday, January 23. The death of the 31-year-old, from Llandrindod Wells, is being treated as unexplained by Dyfed Powys Police.

The force have today confirmed they have made an arrest in relation to the possible fraudulent use of Aaron’s bank card.

“We are investigating the fraudulent use of a bank card,” said police in a statement.

“A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of fraud. He has since been released under investigation pending further police enquiries.”

Aaron’s family paid tribute to him through a statement released last week, describing him as a “kind and carefree soul”.

Aaron – who represented Wales at karate – was described as a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin.

“We as a family are absolutely devastated by our loss,” the family said.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Aaron’s death.

His body is reported locally to have been found on a hill between Penybont and Cefnllys, near Cwmbrith Farm.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have any information about Aaron and may have seen him between January 16 and 23 to come forward.
