Before we begin we thank the daughter of the couple who were pictured with a Muscovy duck in last week’s nostalgia pages who got in touch and shared the story of the picture taken in 1976, explaining that particular breed was very rare in Britain at the time and even more so in Llanfair Caereinion where the family farmed.
Today we just venturing on a relatively short stroll through the circuits of time as we share a selection of pictures from 2010.
It was a busy year in Britain as the 2010 general election took place, resulting in a hung parliament. The Conservative Party win 306 of the 649 seats contested, placing them 20 seats short of an overall majority in the House of Commons.
The UK economy came out of recession, Sachin Tendulkar scored his first double century in One Day International (ODI) cricket, the Chile earthquake, the eruption of Eyjafjallajokull and BP oil spill also dominated the headlines.
Our first picture shows the new starters at Caersws Primary School in 2010. Recognise any familiar faces?

Our first picture on the facing page captures Llanymynech Primary School pupils during their festive play.
Next, a day which all children remember long into their adult lives. A snow day. I am sure the children of Forden pictured together in 2010 remember the day all too well.
Our next picture will warm the hearts of anyone who attended Llanfair Caereinion High School from the 1970s to the 2010s as we share a picture of the one and only John Ellis of Llanfair Caereinion receives the royal treatment at an OAP party in Llanfair Caereinion in 2010.
