ORGANISERS of Knighton Show & Carnival are encouraging local youth groups or a group which supports youngsters in and around Knighton to apply to them for funding before the deadline next week.
Knighton Show & Carnival invites yearly applications from local youth groups to benefit from the generosity of the town attending the event.
Knighton Brownies and 1st Knighton Guides/Rangers, Knighton Town Football Club Juniors and the Knighton Sports Association each received £200 earlier this year from the 2022 event.
The money went to provide more resources and enable the youngsters to have further enjoyment in their group activities.

“Due to the sheer generosity of everyone who supports our events we run, we are now opening the current round of youth funding,” said show secretary Louise Hardwick.
“If you are part of a local youth group or a group which supports youngsters in and around the fairly immediate Knighton area, and think that some funding would be beneficial for your group (can be put towards a variety of things), then please do fill in the form in the link below in order to be considered.
“It doesn't matter if you have already been successful in receiving funding in previous years from us. We will announce the successful groups before Christmas.”
The deadline to apply is next Thursday, December 14. To fill out a form click on the https://forms.gle/Lr1jBGioUVoAzNq57 link and fill in the details.
In other show news, a date has been confirmed for next year’s Knighton Show & Carnival. It will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, over the bank holiday weekend, so get it in your diaries. More details will follow.
Organisers will be reaching out to everyone who has attended previous shows as vendors (food, beverage, craft, charity etc) shortly. If you haven't previously attended and would like to, email knightonshowsecretary@gmail.com.
