A UNIQUE and entertaining theatrical exploration into the teenage brain is set for Llandrindod Wells when Mid Powys Youth Theatre (MPYT) present their latest stage project Brainstorm.

Funny, touching and riotous, Brainstorm was originally devised by Company Three in London, in collaboration with neuro-scientists. MPYT is putting its own spin on the story, reflecting the lives of the young people who perform it.

The show will be performed at Centre Celf in Llandrindod from November 2-4. It is supported by the Ashley Family Foundation.

“It’s a very different production experience for us this time,” said artistic director Ralph Bolland.

OTHER NEWS:

“Our young company are talking about themselves, their own lives and framing it within the science and the wider world.

“It’s a difficult time to be accelerating towards adulthood. With Brainstorm we hope to channel this into something positive and enjoyable about which our young people can feel rightly proud.

The run begins with a one-off ‘freakshow’ where guests can pay-what-you-think-it’s-worth on Thursday, November 2 at 8pm, but is exclusively for those in costume. “Dress up however you please, Hallowe’en spooky-scary, fancy dress, gladrags, cross-dress or top-hat and tails, Thursday night only,” added Ralph.

“We did it last year and it was great fun, a bit bonkers.”

Brainstorm should be a lot of fun. Bookings for all shows is via Eventbrite only. Just go to www.eventbrite.com and search ‘Brainstorm’.
