A NEW Powys business cooking up delicious American soul food has come up with a fiendishly good menu for Hallowe’en.

Pumpkin pie will be part of the seasonal menu for the Goodwin family of Presteigne, who unveiled their US-inspired Dolly's Soul Food kitchen last month.

After spending most of their family holidays travelling America, Joanne Goodwin and daughters Lucy Goodwin and Charlotte Kehoe developed an obsession with soul food.

The country living loving trio say delivery is available to Presteigne, Knighton and Kington initially, while they hope, with enough interest, they could take Dolly’s on the road or even open up a restaurant in the future.

The ladies plan to introduce a new menu every couple of weeks, and on the menu for Hallowe’en is BBQ brisket, the national dish of Texas; cornbread, a favourite of Scout from Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mocking Bird’ and candied yams – sweet potatoes topped with marshmallows.

The menu will be available for this Friday, October 27, but hurry, as all orders must be placed by Wednesday (October 25).

OTHER NEWS:

Dolly’s will be delivering to each area as follows on Friday: Presteigne (5.30pm-6.30pm), Kington (6.15pm-6.45pm) and Knighton (7.15pm-8pm)

Soul food enthusiasts can expect further items on the menu such as okra, mac ‘n’ cheese, gumbo, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, Louisiana sea food boil, beignets, grasshopper pie and much more in the future.
