NEWTOWN travel to Bala Town on Friday night with the Robins two matches away from a return to Europe.

The winners will take on either Cardiff Met or Haverfordwest County in the European play-off final.

Manager Chris Hughes insisted his side were well set for the trip to Maes Tegid despite a tough second half of the season with the Robins rooted in sixth spot.

"Our goal at the start of the season was getting in the top six and that is what we achieved," said Hughes. "We have ende in the top nine times now so it is a good barometer of where we are as a club.

OTHER NEWS

"We have known we were more likely than not going to face Bala in the semi-finals since January so we have prepared and we are looking forward to another big game."

Hughes insisted the Robins' wins over Bala Town this season would count for nought on Friday night.

He also insisted the home side's Welsh Cup final humiliation at the hands of TNS last weekend would not have any relevance.

County Times:

"Bala on a Friday night is one of the toughest away fixtures in the league but we have a fully fit squad and if anything we have a few selection conundrums before then."

Hughes called on townspeople to head north on Friday night.

"We have started getting some young lads coming to games this season and they make a great atmosphere.

"Hopefully they are in Bala in good number and good voice on Friday night as their contribution is really felt and appreciated by the players who want to reward them with a place in Europe."
