Llanfyllin Town Football Club Under 12s will be kicking off their next season with a new sponsor and a new kit.

Marill Group Ltd, the car parts manufacturer that took over the former Stadco Factory in 2022, will be the sponsors of the Under 12s team, with their name on the kit they will be playing in next season when they go up to Under 13s in the Mid/North Powys league.

The team held a photo session on July 6 to show off the new kit. The meeting was attended by Marill Plant Manager Neil Davies and some of the company staff.

Cllr Lewis also stated that Marill remains “very busy with new contracts” in Powys and is “recruiting extra staff”.

Marill’s sponsorship of the Llanfyllin Town Football Club Under 12s comes just over a year after the metal pressing company finalised their takeover of the former Stadco factory.

The purchase, announced in January 2022, came after months worth of efforts to save the Stadco factory from closure following an announcement by the company in September 2020 that it was to close.

As one of Llanfyllin’s biggest employers, there was relief for residents and local councillors that over 100 jobs would be secured with the takeover.
