THE road network in and around Brecon town centre will be closed to traffic at night this week, amid ongoing works.
Seer Construction Ltd is undertaking work to revamp the town centre in Brecon and has announced closures in town from this evening (Monday, July 27) during night hours, which will be in place all week, until Friday, July 31.
The closures mean motorists will not be able to drive sections of the town centre between 6pm and 1am.
“We'll be closing the road for works overnight only, from Monday 27th - Friday 31st, 6pm-1am,” Seer Construction announced in a post on its Facebook page on July 24.
The affected areas include:
- No entry to the High Street via Ship Street, from Bridge Street, Watergate or Market Street.
- No right turn into St Mary's from Glamorgan Street.
- No turning into the Struet from Market Street or Heol Gouesnou and no entry from straight ahead if you were at the traffic lights.

“Working after hours lets us move faster and get the job done in fewer days – and most importantly, it's safer for our workers and for pedestrians, with far less daytime traffic and footfall around the site,” added Seer.
“A few important reminders while we're on site. Please do not move gates or Heras fencing – they're there to protect you.
“Please stay out of the site at all times. Thanks for bearing with us – we appreciate your patience while we get this work done safely and quickly.”
