WIND gusts of between 80-90mph could be possible, as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
The warning could affect residents living in the north west of Powys, the Met Office has said.
A spell of very strong winds later on Saturday, April 4, and overnight into Easter Sunday morning, Sunday, April 5, may cause some damage and travel disruption, the Met Office said.
The warning mainly affects Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of northern England, as well as North Wales, with areas in Wales affected including Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Gwynedd.
A map on the Met Office website suggests the warning will affect as far down as Dolgellau and Tywyn, just north of Machynlleth.
“A rapidly deepening area of low pressure is likely to move northeastwards close to or across northwestern parts of the UK during Saturday evening and night, clearing to the North Sea by Sunday,” said the Met Office.
“Whilst there is some uncertainty over the exact track, intensity and shape of this area of low pressure, a period of strong west to southwesterly winds is expected during Saturday night and into the first part of Easter Sunday, before gradually easing through the day.
“Peak gusts of 50-60mph will be possible fairly widely, with 60-70mph in more exposed locations.
“There is a slight chance of some very strong winds across parts of Scotland, particularly in the west, where gusts of 80-90mph may be possible in exposed areas for a time.”

People living in affected areas have been told to expect some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport, with a chance of cancellations to some services.
There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.
Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are likely, with a chance that some roads and bridges could close.
There is a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs.
There is also a small chance that injuries could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.
The Met Office said the yellow warning does have a very low likelihood of occurring and a medium impact.
