With just two weeks to go until the 2024 Urdd Eisteddfod, Powys is preparing top welcome people from across Wales for one of Europe’s biggest youth festivals.

In a fortnight, Powys will welcome the Maldwyn 2024 Urdd Eisteddfod. Excitement is building for the large-scale event, which is being held from May 27 to June 1 in the fields of Mathrafal Farm by Meifod.

Asa thousands of people are expected to travel to Meifod for the event, Powys County Council are making preparations by working closely with the Urdd, the local organising committee, local communities, businesses and volunteers to make the most of the opportunities the Urdd Eisteddfod brings.

Cllr James Gibson-Watt, leader of Powys County Council, said: “We’re extremely excited and honoured that the 2024 Urdd Eisteddfod is taking place in Powys and to welcome children and young people and their families from across Wales as they attend and participate in this special festival.
