More than 200 pupils and staff at a Powys primary school were evacuated on Thursday following a bomb scare, police have confirmed.

The force said a bomb threat had been called in to Ysgol Cefnllys in Llandrindod Wells, which is located close to Powys County Council’s headquarters.

Police said the bomb threat turned out to be a hoax and that one person had been arrested.

Ysgol Cefnllys announced on its Facebook page just after 1.30pm that the school was closing, with all children and staff being evacuated.
