A LARGE barn fire on Saturday afternoon led to a cross-border response as Oswestry firefighters were called out to Four Crosses.

Four engines were sent to Domgay Road, in Four Crosses, shortly before 1.30pm after reports of a fire in a barn.

The request to Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) to attend came from Mid & West Wales Fire Service (MAWW) who were on the scene.

A SFRS spokesman said: “There was a request from Mid & West Wales for assistance with a large barn fire.

“The Oswestry water carrier was mobilised.”

MAWW has been approached for comment.
