A royal harpist who performed at King Charles’ coronation will be making an appearance in Llanfyllin this summer.

The Llanfyllin Music Festival is scheduled to return this summer, as several talented performers will be appearing in St Myllin’s Church, including royal harpist Alis Huws.

On July 5 the Ensemble Renard wind quintet returns, following two previous successes at Llanfyllin.

On July 7, harpist Ieuan Jones, who grew up locally and has an internationally reputation for his scintillating performances, will be joined by former pupil Alis Huws for a special recital.

The festival will also welcome the Creswick Quartet on July 12 and July 13 as part of its tradition to feature a string quartet as a mainstay of the programme. Fronted by violinist Bradley Creswick, whose career includes playing as Leader of the Royal Opera House Orchestra and the Royal Northern Sinfonia.

Early tickets are available until May 31 via the Llanfyllin Music Festival website for £18 while General admission tickets will be on sale from June 1 online and from local outlets such as the Spar in Llanfyllin; Rowanthorn in Oswestry; and Welshpool Jewellers. Under 16s accompanied by an adult are admitted free.
