RESIDENTS living in and on around Builth Wells might have been wondering why a helicopter was hovering low in the sky on the outskirts of town on Thursday morning (March 21).
It was not the red of the Wales Air Ambulance, but yellow, although it was not a police or coastguard helicopter either.
Rather, it was a National Grid Electricity Distribution, with the energy supplier confirming that the chopper was out performing a routine inspection of the network.
“This will be a helicopter operated by National Grid Electricity Distribution,” said a National Grid spokesperson.
“It is conducting a routine inspection patrol on our 11kV lines in the Brecon area today to examine the condition of our network so we can ensure electricity supplies to customers continue to operate safely and reliably.”
