Thieves stole a pick-up truck and farm vehicle, but failed to take a van, during a 10-hour period in Bishop's Castle, police have warned.

A black Nissan Navara pick-up truck, with vehicle registration number MT14 HRC, and its keys were stolen from Bishop's Castle Business Park sometime around 8.30pm on Wednesday, March 6.

Criminals also broke the windows of an Iveco van parked at the business park and attempted to steal the vehicle but failed during the same evening.

A farm on the outskirts of Bishop's Castle was then targeted when thieves stole a Kawasaki MULE (Multi-Use Light Equipment) with attached sprayer from an outbuilding between 8pm on March 6 and 6am on March 7.

West Mercia Police said the suspect vehicle was identified on cloned plates and that enquiries are ongoing.

Police have warned that quad and other all-terrain vehicle thefts from farms continue to be a regular occurrence in south Shropshire by criminal gangs.

"On many occasions the quads have been left with keys in the ignition making it easier for the offenders to steal and potentially leaving the victim unable to claim on any insurance," police said.

"Please take measure to make the vehicle as difficult as you can to steal."

Other crimes reported to police in the Bishop's Castle area between February 16 and March 15 include harassment and assault.
