A TRUE community champion is stepping down from her role after nearly 16 years’ service in Rhayader.

Del Ho-Sang is leaving Rhayader and District Community Support, but her loss will be someone else’s gain in the town as she will continue to volunteer within the Rhayader community.

Del embodies the close-knit spirit of the Rhayader community and has won many accolades over the years. She was named ‘Rhayader Citizen of the Year’ in 2020 and has also been named ‘Volunteer of the Year’, ‘Senedd Community Champion’ and has also received the ‘Platinum Champion Award’.

“Our dedicated volunteer Del Ho-Sang has decided to leave Rhayader and District Community Support after nearly 16 years’ service,” said a spokesperson for the organisation.

“During her time there she has undertaken many roles and given invaluable help to the Rhayader community, achieving several awards along the way; ‘Volunteer of the Year’, ‘Senedd Community Champion’, ‘Citizen of the Year’ and most prominently the ‘Platinum Champion Award’ – celebrating the outstanding contribution of volunteers.

“However, she will continue to volunteer for other organisations on behalf of the Rhayader community.

“We would like to thank her for all she has done and wish her all the best.”
