Machynlleth Fire Station's crew have bid farewell to one of their longest serving team members, their fire engine.
On Tuesday, February 24, Machynlleth Fire Station officially welcomed a new fire engine to its ranks, replacing their previous rescue vehicle, which had served the station for 19 years.
First arriving at Machynlleth in 2009, the MAN Rescue appliance that has been with the station for almost two decades has been replaced with an upgraded vehicle in the form of a Volvo Rescue Appliance.
Staff at the station have been preparing for the new engine for some time, having taken part in familiarisation training to get accustomed to the new vehicle’s features and functionalities so they know their way around it in the event of an emergency.
