A POWYS pub has reopened to much fanfare after undergoing a makeover.

The White Horse in Builth Wells reopened last Friday, February 2, after choosing to use a quiet January to freshen up the place.

An extensive refurbishment included brand new furniture and flooring, as well as sprucing up the kitchen – landlord Rory Owen has even installed TV screens in the toilets.

“We’re back,” said a post on the pub’s Facebook page last Friday, with plush new images attached.

“Here’s our refurbishment makeover and the hard work has paid off and is ready for all to see.

The reopening was pushed back a week at the end of January, after Rory decided late on to revamp the kitchen too.

The town centre pub has become famed for its bouncing Royal Welsh Show week parties and visits from celebrities like Joey Essex and Chloe Ferry under the stewardship of Rory, who has been at the helm for nearly 10 years. The pub’s food is also raved about locally, with a fresh menu and monthly specials all the rage.
