A MAN was arrested on suspicion of multiple offences, including aggravated vehicle taking and drug driving, following a crash that closed a road in Powys last weekend.

The man was arrested after crashing into a telegraph pole on the A483 near Welshpool in the early hours of Saturday, February 3.

Traffic Wales reported on Saturday that there had been a road traffic collision between Arddleen and Four Crosses, which closed the road for several hours.

Dyfed Powys Police said they attended a collision involving a single vehicle at Four Crosses, at around 1.55am on Saturday.

“Due to the collision with a telegraph pole, the road was subsequently closed while the pole was being secured and the vehicle recovered.

“One man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking without consent, (driving with) no license, no insurance, (producing a) positive drug wipe, and breach of court bail in relation to this incident.”

The road was reported as back open shortly after 6am.
