A driver has been arrested after a car was left on fire after a crash which left a main road in Powys closed.
Dyfed Powys Police have arrested one person on suspicion of drink driving after a crash on the A470 this morning (January 19) – leaving their car on fire.
The A470 between Llangurig and Rhayader was closed for several hours after police were called to the scene of a one-car accident.

When officers got to the scene of the collision they found that the vehicle was trapped down a bank and was in flames – leading to the road being closed.
The male driver of the vehicle was then arrested by Dyfed-Powys on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Polce said: “Police attended a report of a one vehicle collision, on the A470 between Rhyader and Llangurig.
“One car was found to be down a bank and on fire.
“A man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.”
