AN 83-year-old Powys man will face trial in the New Year over an allegation he assaulted his ex-wife.
James Evans denied one charge of assault against Doreen Evans when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, December 19.
Evans is alleged to have assaulted Mrs Evans at Bryn Teg, Garthmyl, on May 17 this year.
Evans, now of Brookfields Estate, Westyn Rhyn, near Oswestry, is set to face trial in Welshpool on February 7 next year.
He remains on conditional bail, which forbids him from contacting his alleged victim by any means, including via a third party, and he is not to attend her home address.
