THE Co-op in Builth Wells is delighted to announce that its two local causes it will be supporting in 2024 are Builth Wells Community Support (BWCS) and Builth Wells Scout Group.

The two organisations have been chosen by the Brecon Road store as part of the Co-op’s Local Community Fund scheme. The fund donates 1p of every pound spent on Co-op branded goods towards the causes.

“I think being a Co-op member is a win-win. Not only do you receive 2p back for every pound you spend on Co-op branded goods plus other member-only discounts, but the Co-op donates another 1p to the local cause you wish to support,” said Helen Tuite, Co-op member pioneer.

OTHER NEWS:

“We’ve just donated £8,447 to the previous local causes, so all those pennies really do add up.

“We have two very worthy causes for this coming year, Builth Wells Community Support and Builth Wells Scout Group, so we hope our members will choose one of them to support.”

Cathy Warlow, manager at Builth Community Support, said: “We are so grateful to be chosen by the Co-op.

“It will certainly benefit our main aims which are to help people to live healthy, independent lives within their community.”

Sarah Morgan, Scouts leader, added: “Scouting creates an environment where children and adults can experience new opportunities, learn new skills and create friendships that will help them to grow into the best people they can be.

“The funds from the Co-op will be put to very good use.”

It costs just a one-off fee of £1 to become a member. You can ask at your local store or go to www.coop.co.uk. If you are already a member and want to choose one of these causes, go to www.coop.co.uk/local-causes for more information, or just download the Co-op app, and everything is on there.
