An unusual camping experience in Machynlleth was recognised with an award presented by one the UK’s leading campsite directories.

Living Room Treehouses, based in Bryn Meurig Farm near Machynlleth, was named as the UK's Most Unique Glamping location by Campsites.co.uk, chosen from a selection of over 3,000 sites across the country.

Consisting of six hand-built treehouses, the site offers visitors a chance to stay in a freestanding treetop and is designed to blend in with its forestry environment.

The site has previously featured in publications such as The Guardian, Vogue, BBC’s Countryfile Magazine and the Channel 4 programme George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces, and were pleased to add this latest recognition to their list of accolades.

C-founder Mark Bond said: “We’re really happy and excited to have been given the UK's Most Unique Glamping Site award.

County Times: One of the treehouses in Machynlleth based Living Room Treehouse.

“We first started 10 years ago, and were one of if not the first treehouse campsites in the UK, so it’s very nice to still be recognised all these years later.

“Over the years we have welcomed thousands of visitors to these treehouses so it means a lot to receive positive feedback year after year, as we have tried to create a treetop experience that combines nature, ecological values, comfort and design - in an exciting, remote, off-grid adventure.

OTHER NEWS:

“The treehouses have been designed and built by artists and craftspeople of the Dyfi Valley, all handcrafted which makes them completely unique. You literally can’t find treehouses exactly like these anywhere else in the world, and families and couples seem to love what we've created.

“Since we began the business, treehouse themed sites and glamping in general have become much bigger industries in the UK, but we have a philosophy of keeping Living Room Treehouses as accessible as we can.

“We’re also the only site like this in the UK where the treehouses are supported entirely by the tree and we’ve remained very remote and removed from the built up world around us, so I think it adds to the special magic of the site and offers campers a very unique experience.”
