A PAIR of Llanidloes youngsters have raised hundreds to tackle type one diabetes.
Mason and Ethan Sutton, aged 9 and 11, have been raising money for Diabetes UK, which Mason has been diagnosed with.
The fundraising campaign gained the attention of Trudy Davies at Woosnam & Davies News in Llaindloes after a visit from them in her shop looking for a spot to help with his fundraising.
“When Mason came in to see me before the summer and asked if I would put a collection Bucket on the counter for a week or two,” said Ms Davies. “I told him I would collect in between our other fund raising events for few months, he drew me a picture which we used for the Appeal in which he drew his pump that he has to use everyday.”

Ms Davies was so impressed she decided to the help and has been helping him with their quest during the last few months.
“He told me all about Diabetes and how he deals with the condition on a daily basis,” added Ms Davies. “I was amazed on how knowledgeable and resilient both him and his family were about the condition - I am happy that we raised £200 for his Appeal.”
The total of the appeal so far is £475 as Mason and his Mum held a cake stall back in the summer and the Primary school held a collection recently.
