YSGOL Calon Cymru is urging parents and carers to join them in developing a brand-new Friends of the School/Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
Ysgol Calon Cymru, which spreads its campus across sites in Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells, will be hosting an informal meeting on Monday, December 4, at the Llandrindod campus between 4pm–5pm.
There will be tea, coffee and cake to enjoy whilst learning more about this opportunity, with future meetings will be held alternately between both campuses.
This is an exciting opportunity that would involve the following: meeting other parents and carers; getting involved in your local community; event planning; encouraging your family, friends and businesses to get involved in the school community; and providing social opportunities for all parents, carers and children.

Headteacher Richard Jones told parents and carers in the school’s recent newsletter: “If you are someone who loves seeing the positive impact that teamwork can have, then this opportunity is definitely something you should consider.
“It will also help with any other voluntary programmes you may be undertaking, and looks great on your CV.
“We are encouraging all interested parents and carers from both campuses to attend. By attending the meeting you are not committing to anything in the future – it is simply a chance to come and find out more on an informal basis.”
If you are keen to attend the meeting, or would like an informal discussion around this opportunity before then, get in touch with joni.hughes@hotmail.co.uk. Joni is a parent-governor who is linking in with the school in terms of developing this opportunity, and is available to answer any questions you may have.
