A PARAMEDIC from Powys has elected a crown court trial after denying causing serious injury by careless driving.
Eileen Ann Ireland, 59, appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 22, where she entered a not guilty plea to the charge, which arose following an incident near Llandrindod on July 30, 2022.
The incident involved the ambulance Ireland was allegedly driving colliding with a motorcycle.

The incident is alleged to have taken place when Ireland, of Bryn Lane, Llanllwchaiarn, near Newtown, was driving a Mercedes Sprinter Welsh Ambulance Service Trust ambulance on the A483 between Llananno and Llanbadarn Fynydd.
Magistrates deemed the case suitable for summary trial and said they were happy to retain jurisdiction, but Ireland elected a trial at the crown court.
She is due to make an initial appearance at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on December 20.
