Llanwrtyd Wells’ Victoria Hall was full to capacity on Saturday night, October 14, to listen to the National Eisteddfod 2023 men’s choir winners perform.

The concert, organised by the Llanwrtyd and District Heritage and Arts Centre, was long-awaited – the choir were due to perform in Llanwrtyd pre-Covid but when the pandemic hit, the concert had to be postponed.

Llanwrtyd mayor and centre trustee Sarah Jones welcomed everyone to the event and thanked the numerous sponsors.

With Menna Rhys accompanying on the piano, the audience were given an evening of excellent entertainment. Soloists included well-known tenor Aled Wyn Davies, Ioan Mabbutt, Aled Rees and Ilan Jones, the National Eisteddfod 2023 baritone solo winner.

During the interval, concert president John Rowlands, accompanied by his wife Rosemary, thanked the community, volunteers and trustees who work diligently throughout the year to maintain the local heritage centre that's such an important asset to the town.
