A person was left trapped in their vehicle after a crash closed a the main road between Welshpool and Newtown.
The A483 near Berriew was closed in both directions after a crash between two vehicles at around midday today (October 19) disrupting traffic travelling on one of Powys' main roads.
Emergency Services scrambled to the scene after an accident left one person trapped in their vehicle, leading to Dyfed-Powys Police closing the route and installing a diversion through Berriew itself.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the person who was trapped in their vehicle had to be released by crews at the scene.
A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: " At 12.02pm on Thursday, October 19th, the Montgomery and Welshpool crews were called to an incident in Berriew, Welshpool.
"A road traffic collision had occurred involving two private motor vehicles with one casualty medically trapped inside one vehicle.
"Crews proceeded to stabilise the vehicle before preparing to extricate the casualty with assistance from the on-scene Ambulance Service crew. Dyfed Powys Police were also in attendance and a section of the A483T was closed while the incident was ongoing.
"Crews utilised small gear, glass management tools, one hose reel jet and one dry powder extinguisher and left the scene at 1.30pm."
Dyfed Powys Police have confirmed that the person wo was trapped in their vehicle required further medical assistance and was later transported to hospital.
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Police attended a two vehicle road traffic collision which occurred on the A483 near Berriew at about 11.35 this morning. One person was taken to hospital.
"The road was closed and reopened at about 1.50pm.”
