A community garden in Machynlleth has been awarded a grant of over £3,000 as part of a Powys scheme to promote local wildlife spaces.
Gerddi Bro Ddyfi Gardens announced on October 17 that it had been successful in its application to the Powys Nature Partnership scheme ‘Local Places for Nature’ and had been awarded £3,866 as a result.
The Powys Nature Partnership is a group of organisations and individuals working together to conserve Powys' wildlife for the future.

The management at Bro Ddyfi Gardens said that the grant would go towards the development of their forest garden area, installing some durable new metal benches, and co-designing some signage to educate visitors about the wildlife of the garden.
They said: “This will give us lots of interesting activities during our winter drop-in sessions, and we can’t wait to see what the garden looks like afterwards! A big thank you to the Local Places for Nature team.”
