A BUILTH Wells man will face trial later this year over an accusation that he destroyed the breeding site of a protected wild animal.
John Stephen Price, 68, faces one charge of destroying the breeding site of brown long eared bats, a protected European species.
The alleged offences occurred on July 12 this year at an address in the Birchfield Cottages area of Garth, a village near Builth.
Price, of Roadwood, Maesmynis, near Builth, pleaded not guilty when he appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 13.
The case was adjourned, with a trial set to take place in Landrindod on November 22.
