A number of vintage cars and bikes will be heading to Forden as part of an annual fundraising event.

On September 24, the Forden Vintage Car and Classic Bike Show will return following its successful relaunch in 2022, which raised over £5,000 for local charities.

The event features a wide variety of cars, motorcycles, tractors and vans for visitors to view, brought in by several vintage vehicle groups from across Powys.

Forden’s Vintage Car and Classic Bike Show first began in 2010, having been founded by Richard Davys-Jones as a way to raise money for the village’s primary school, collecting £600 with its inaugural event.

OTHER NEWS:

The show ran for several years, raising £13,000 in total for various local causes, until it was halted by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Mr Davy-Jones sadly passed away in November 2021, prompting a reived version of the show as a tribute which managed to raise £5,377.

Following the success, what was originally meant to be a one-off event became an annual show as the classic vehicles return to Forden.

County Times:

Show spokesperson, Rhiannon Kershaw said: "Last year we raised a whopping total of £5,377 and many local charities and associations benefitted."

“Visitors will be able to find plenty of Bikes, motorcycles, tractors, vans and camper vans, as well as various food outlets and maybe a few other surprises.

“We have a children’s play area with pens and paper and a bouncy castle to keep the kids entertained whilst the adults enjoy the show.

“The Clive Motorcycle Club, Vintage Japanese motorcycle group, Mid Wales advanced motorists and Shropshire and Powys advanced riders will also be in attendance.

"This year we are again hoping to support the local community and those who are in need."
