A BUILTH Wells business is going the extra mile in order to make life easier for its customers, as it starts a deliver to your door service today.

High Street Stores and Builth Wells Post Office is in the heart of town, but owners Matthew and Tracy Houghton thought a delivery service would be welcomed by the town’s more elderly population, while parking along Builth’s busy high street is often impossible.

So they’ve decided to launch the new service, which will deliver goods and groceries in under an hour.

Deliveries begin today (August 11) at 5.30pm. Initially, they will only deliver to homes within a 1-mile radius, but they have plans to expand, with customers able to order online or by phone.

“We thought that it would be a great service for the elderly community and, as there is not too much parking on the high street, we can get to people super-fast,” said Matt.

“We've had tons of interest but the deliveries are starting at 5.30pm so I’m not sure how it’s going to go yet. I’m a bit nervous, hoping nothing is going to go wrong.

“I'm sure it will be popular though and we do plan to expand the area to the villages once we get into the flow with it.”

In a post on its Facebook page, the shop said: “Today is the day. We're thrilled to announce the launch of our delivery service.

“Book your slot any time, deliveries start at 5.30pm. Say hello to convenience and goodbye to long queues. Order online or by phone and get your items in under 60 minutes.
