A Powys drinks company, that is enjoyed by King Charles, says they are going from “strength to strength”.

Welsh Farmhouse Apple Juice, which had a stall at this year’s Royal Welsh Show, is a family company based in Crickhowell and has been supplying the Royal Court for years.

“Welsh Farmhouse Apple Juice was set up about 15 years ago,” said owner David Morris. “My father bought it off a local farm and upscaled it. We took over in 2019, myself and my wife.”

The company has long been successful and has been a favourite of some very special customers.

“In 2014 we had a Royal visit from the then Prince Charles. We had been making his juice slightly under the radar for a number of years,” said Mr Morris.

“He wanted to see how it was done. We had a visit on the farm and in 2015 and we were awarded the Royal Warrant.”

Royal Warrants is an official certificate that the produce is supplied to the King, the Prince of Wales or their households.

“It was great - it was a great show of support and sign of the quality we are trying to achieve in the company. I think we have gone from strength to strength from there on,” said Mr Morris.

“We make apple juice from old traditional apples we make single variety so you can vary the flavour from very sweet all the way to dry all depending on the variety of apples.

“We have also diversified into doing some pear juice, which is very, very popular. People can’t get enough of it.”

County Times:

Even though the company, like many, had a dip during the pandemic, Mr Morris has said they are now enjoying a period of growth.

“Obviously Covid did what it did but we have come out stronger than ever and are looking to grow going forward,” added Mr Morris.

“During Covid people had to do new things and tried new things. What then happened was that when things got back to normal and customers who were closed came back we got a bit of a double whammy – so we are busier than ever in that sense.”
