A large crowd poured in for a duck race which raised more than £4,000 for Llanidloes Junior Football Club.
Keen footballer and junior club member Thomas Williams’ duck pipped 1,399 others to the finishing line at Longbridge after bobbing along the River Severn from Shortbridge on June 24. Victorious Thomas was presented with £100 which he said will be spent on Lego.
All 240 boys and girls then received a medal at a special presentation at the football club, and the over 10s team received trophies for Coaches Player of the Year and the Most Improved Player.

Llion Hamer was named this year’s Club Volunteer of the Year and Paul Hamer was announced as Club Person of the Year.
Chairman Andrew Turner thanked Amy Jones and the committee for organising the event which raised more than £4,000.
Co-op were thanked by Llanidloes Junior Football Club for allowing their young members to sell ducks for the fundraising race.
Around 1,400 ducks took part in a race from Shortbridge to Longbridge to raise money for Llanidloes Junior Football Club.

Andrew added a special thank you to the Co-op for a food donation and for allowing the Club to sell ducks, and to Huws Gray, the Football Club and all the parents and helpers.
