A ROAD was closed due to a “serious police incident” near Builth Wells earlier this evening (Wednesday, March 29).
The Wales Air Ambulance was seen flying above the skies of Builth and landed just outside town, with the incident reported locally as a motorist being involved in a road traffic collision.
The incident happened shortly after 6pm in Llanelwedd, near the Royal Welsh Showground, where the main roads of Powys, the A470 and A483, meet.
Traffic Wales tweeted at 6.33pm: “A470 travelling in both directions from Builth Wells to the A483 is currently closed due to a serious police incident.
“Please find an alternative route and expect delays if you're in the area.”
The Wales Air Ambulance was seen to take off again shortly after landing. The road was opened again at around 8pm.
