LLANDRINDOD Carnival supporters were fittingly treated to an evening of terrific musical entertainment to celebrate St David’s Day earlier this month.

Rhayader and District Male Voice Choir were supported by the Cefnllys School Choir, Cerys Gough and other soloists from the Llandrindod campus of Ysgol Calon Cymru, and a harpist from Ysgol Trefonnen on Saturday, March 4.

It was a rousing evening, held at Llandrindod’s Royal British Legion club, with some powerful singing from the choir and from the schools, providing a wonderful evening of variety; talented singers, a harpist, a pianist and a cornetist.

The evening was smoothed over by Phil Gayther, the new Rhayader MVC chairman, who performed admirably as the compere.

“Please let us know if you are interested and we will book you a spot. There is no charge, but we do ask for a donation towards the event. Please share with you friends and groups.”

In a separate post, they added: “Why not have a float in this year’s Llandrindod Carnival and get your name out there to the whole town.

“This year's carnival will be held on July 1. If you need any help or advice about getting a trailer or flatbed, then please send a message to the carnival Facebook page and we will be more than happy to assist you.”
