A drug dealer convicted of making indecent images of children and possessing extreme animal porn in Llandrindod Wells has been told to prepare for a prison sentence.

Vasile Branzas, 47, of no fixed abode, was convicted of possessing an extreme pornographic image portraying intercourse or oral sex with an animal, possessing cocaine and heroin with intent to supply and three counts of making indecent photographs of a child.

Branzas, who appeared over video link from HMP Altcourse in Liverpool, was due to be sentenced at Mold Crown Court on Tuesday (March 7) but it was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.

Recorder Simon Mills fixed a new sentencing date of April 5.

He told Branzas: "I’m sorry that we can’t pass sentence on you today.

"Because of the nature of some of the offences the court should have a full pre-sentence report from the probation service.

"There isn’t one and that’s not your fault that it’s not been picked up and that sometimes happens with a busy service.

“I’m saying nothing on what sort of sentence it will be.

"All the options are open to the court. These are serious offences, and you must prepare yourself for a custodial sentence.

"Your case is one that notification provisions apply, the length of which will be determined with the type of sentence that will be passed on you.”
