An elderly woman has died at Tesco supermarket in Newtown after emergency services were called to the store.
Police and paramedics were called to the superstore in Pool Road on Wednesday afternoon (December 21).
The 79-year-old woman sadly died despite the efforts of staff at the store and ambulance crews.
Police said the pensioner had suffered a medical emergency. Her next of kin has been told, the force added.

Dyfed-Powys Police released a statement today, saying officers from Newtown were called to an incident at Tesco on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called to the Tesco store in Newtown at around 2.25pm on Wednesday, December 21, after a 79-year-old woman suffered a medical emergency.
"Despite the efforts of staff at the store and ambulance crews she was pronounced dead. Next of kin has been informed."
