A MAN faces trial next month over accusations that he defrauded clients out of almost £20,000.

Two of Naheed Plumridge’s alleged victims are from Powys. The 15 charges he is accused of relate to obtaining money for garden and building work that he never carried out, between June 2015 and October 2021.

Most of the 48-year-old’s alleged victims are from the Herefordshire and Worcestershire areas but two charges relate to defrauding Powys clients, living in Llandrindod Wells and Rhayader.

In each charge Plumridge, of Churchill Avenue, Leominster, is also referred to as Deehan Williams.

Between March 2 and January 31, 2021, he is accused of dishonestly making a false representation to Jaqueline and Amelia Turner by claiming he would complete roof works at Dolwen, Llandrindod, for £2,000, intending to make a gain of £1,245 for himself.

Between January 16 and 30 last year he is charged with dishonestly making a false representation to Shannon Downey by saying he would build shelves and install electrical sockets at a property on Caeherbert Lane, in Rhayader, for £795, intending to make a gain of £375.

The other 12 charges relate to him being charged with trying to obtain separate amounts of £4,527, £4,000, £2,200, £1,000, £1,000, £800, £650, £600, £380, £300, £150 and £125. The overall amount he is alleged of taking is £17,352.

Plumridge had been due to appear at Hereford Justice Centre on June 28 to answer the charges, but he failed to attend, leading magistrates to issue a warrant for his arrest.

He did appear there on Tuesday, November 15, where he denied all 15 offences and the case was set down for trial.

Plumridge will be tried at Worcester Crown Court on December 13.
