BRITISH music pioneers Morcheeba will be performing in Powys next week as part of a two-stop tour of Wales

Their ‘Blackest Blue’ UK tour, a celebration of 25 years as a band, comes to Llandrindod Wells’ Pavilion next Thursday, August 25, with doors opening at 7pm.

Morcheeba released their latest critically acclaimed album ‘Blackest Blue’ in May 2021, described as “bold, mercurial, and enthralling” by Albumism. The album is a refined collection that fuses previous incarnations and sound of the band, such as downbeat, chill, electro-pop and soul, into one cohesive record that delves into the soul of the band’s genre-mashing musical heritage.

The band said they wanted to create an organic journey that represents everything great about Morcheeba.

Morcheeba’s global reach is impressive, taking them to every corner of the world. Their signature chilled electronic/organic sound has been border-hopping ever since the London-based duo emerged as a household name.

The past year has been one of introspection for Skye Edwards and Ross Godfrey, as they took stock of their renewed global fan base by playing the few UK and European festivals which went ahead during the pandemic last year ahead of their recent headline tour.

The band will come to Powys a night after a show in Sin City, Swansea, on August 24.
