The portrait was painted by South Wales artist Dan Llewellyn Hall.
Mr Llewellyn Hall once portrayed the Queen, becoming the youngest official portrait artist to do so.
Dafydd Iwan has his own royal connections, having performed at the investiture of Prince Charles.
The gig and unveiling are part of the Amdani Fachynlleth Festival.
