Tributes have been paid to a Newtown mum who died following a car crash in Radnorshire.

Renata Anna Sumiga, 38, was in a collision involving a white Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Passat on the A483 between Llanbister and Camnant on Wednesday, March 16, at around 7.30pm.

Sadly, she died five days later on March 21 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent.

Her family have expressed their heartbreak at the mother-of-two's death in a moving tribute.

In a statement, they said: “Renata was the mother of two wonderful boys who never spared love for her children and life partner.

“Renata was always helpful and was willing to devote her time and attention to other people.

“She was very kind to all her family, friends and acquaintances and was very cheerful, despite many worries of everyday life.

“She will be sorely missed.”

An inquest into her death will be opened by Dr Sarah Jayne Richards at Pontypridd Coroner's Court on Friday morning (April 1).

A 20-year-old woman in the white Toyota Yaris suffered serious injuries in the collision.

Firefighters from Llandrindod Wells rescued people found trapped inside one of the vehicles and helped treat three casualties with first aid at the scene.
