Burger King is giving away 1,000 free Whoppers for one day only to mark the opening of its new restaurant in Newtown.

Fast food fans will have to be quick if they want to get their hands on their famous burgers as the deal is first-come-first-served, and available exclusively via click and collect on the Burger King app on Wednesday, March 23.

Once in the app, customers simply have to tap ‘Order’ on the home screen, search for and select the new ‘Newtown’ restaurant, and the special offer will appear in the ‘Offers’ tab.

This week, Burger King is open from 11am to 7pm.

Alasdair Murdoch, CEO of Burger King UK, said: “We know the people of Newtown love the great-tasting food of Burger King, so we’ve listened to their requests and are very excited to bring all their favourites to their neighbourhood. Our home – of the Whopper! – is their home.”

For those not quick enough to secure themselves one of the free burgers up for grabs – fear not. The Burger King app includes countless other great value offers, including £1.99 Whoppers available at every Burger King branch every Wednesday.

Burger King opened its new restaurant and drive-thru in Pool Road over the weekend, creating 25 new jobs in the area, after KFC left the site “for good” in January.

There are now two Burger King restaurants in Powys with the other based in Station Road, Builth Wells.

The Newtown restaurant will be open from 11am until 8pm next week, then until 9pm the following week. From the week beginning Monday, April 11, the restaurant will be open until 10pm.
