A BRIDGE in Powys will be closed for one night next week while essential work is carried out.

Work to undertake essential survey works on the A470 Caersws Bridge will commence from March 1-2 and last for one night.

Traffic Wales said the work will begin at 7pm on March 1 and the closure will be in place until 6am the following morning.

“The work will be carried out over one night between 7pm-6am under a full closure of the A470 trunk road at Caersws Bridge,” said Traffic Wales.

“The works are being carried out overnight to minimise disruption.

“Southbound traffic will be diverted off the A470 and onto the B4568 at Llanwnog, travel through Aberhafesp and Newtown before joining the Newtown bypass at Kerry Road roundabout. Traffic then heads west along Newtown bypass and A489 to Caersws.

“Northbound traffic will be diverted as above but vice versa.”
