KNIGHTON’S Advice from the Hub has been forced to cancel the services it offers for the foreseeable future due to coronavirus.

The hub will remain closed until further notice it has said, while the omicron variant remains prevalent.

“Following our Knighton and District Community Centre staff and management meeting we are disappointed to have to announce that due to continuing concerns around the surge of the highly transmissible omicron variant of the coronavirus a decision was made to continue to remain closed for the foreseeable future to the services we offer,” Advice from the Hub said in a post on its Facebook page.

“We will be meeting weekly to review our decision and really hope that it will not be too long before the doors are open to our services.”

Services currently unavailable include: family centre (Mondays), Tuesday café drop-in, stay & play (Wednesday), drop-in eatery (Thursday).

“We will however continue to offer a Soup from the Hub home delivery service and a takeaway drop-in eatery on Thursdays; if you or someone you know would like to access this service please call Catherine Cadwallader on 07496 124302.”

Knighton Library is open on: Tuesdays 10.30am-1pm and 2-5pm; Thursdays 10.30am-1pm and 2-6pm; Fridays 8am-12.30pm.

The following groups/organisations will still be available at the centre and will all be conducting their service via their updated Covid-19 risk assessment: Hear to Help hearing aid maintenance clinic (third Tuesday morning of the month), Panache dance class (Tuesday evening), Wednesday morning pilates, Thursday morning art group, karate and Friday morning Nina Walmsley stretch and balance keep fit group.
