A RURAL Powys contractor has been fined more than £1,000 for failing to provide the details of a driver of one of its company vehicles to police.

GT Jones Contracting Ltd was ordered to pay a total financial penalty of £1,210 by Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 25, for an offence that occurred on June 3 this year. The incident was said to have happened in Treforest, Pontypridd, whereby the driver of the Iveco Daily vehicle failed to provide their identity.

Nobody was in court to represent GT Jones Contracting, based near Llanbedr, Crickhowell, with the firm found guilty in its absence at an earlier hearing.

The company was fined £1,000 and also ordered to pay costs of £110 and a £100 surcharge.
