WHO’S brave enough to take a wander along a spooky woodland walk and step inside a haunted dam this Hallowe’en?

The scariest holiday of the year comes to the Elan Valley a few days early this weekend with a family friendly spooky dam open day taking place on Friday, October 29, at Pen Y Garreg dam.

Make your way up through the woodland, keeping an eye out for the pumpkin markers. On each marker is a letter. Use these letters to create a password which will get you past the gatekeeper and into the dam.

Walk though Pen Y Garreg dam to the central tower where you can collect a Hallowe’en treat, then continue your journey through the dam, down through the woodlands and back to your car.

Costumes are optional but also encouraged.

Park at Penbont car park and follow the spooky trail through the woodland and up the steps to the dam entrance. The walk from the car park will take between 10-20 minutes; please factor this into your travel to the dam to ensure that you arrive within your chosen time as organisers are unable to accept latecomers.

Entry is £5 for adults and £1 for those aged 18 and under with half of all proceeds going to othe Elan Valley’s chosen charity, WaterAid. Tickets must be bought in advance; there will be no option to buy tickets on the door. Please print or download your confirmation/ticket beforehand as there is no signal at the dam and you will be required to show evidence of booking.
