There are no plans to close Knighton Hospital, Powys Teaching Health Board has said.
Online rumours had suggested that the future of the community hospital, which provides outpatient and inpatient services, a midwife-led unit, residential care services and therapy, was under threat.
But the health board has today released a statement unequivocally denying that the hospital could close.
It read: "Powys Teaching Health Board has absolutely no plans to close Knighton Hospital.
"The health board's response to Covid-19 meant that we had to temporarily close the ward at the hospital last year but we are still fully committed to reopening it as soon as we are able."
