LLANDRINDOD Wells residents have been warned that rogue traders are operating in the area.

Police are urging people in the town, especially those who are elderly or might be vulnerable, to be vigilant and report any suspicious people, vehicles or activity.

Radnorshire Police tweeted on Tuesday, March 2: “Rogue Traders are operating in Llandrindod.

“These are dishonest tradespeople who often turn up unannounced, please be vigilant and report suspicious people/vehicles to the Police.

“Your local neighbourhood policing team will be operating in areas that have been identified on March 5, if you see us come and have a socially distanced chat.”

Dyfed Powys Police and Powys County Council advise residents to always ask for an identity card and look up the organisation to check the salesperson’s identity is correct; don’t be taken in by high pressure sales techniques; always shop around; check the fine print; talk to someone you trust for a second opinion; think carefully before you agree to a trader starting any work and remember, it’s OK to say no.
